Expert Reviews

An expert review is where one or more usability experts use their knowledge and experience of users to walk through a software application or website in the shoes of a typical user. The expert will spot problems and recommend changes to improve usability. Expert reviews are often utilized before user research is conducted or when budgets and timescales don’t allow for user research. Experts use their knowledge of human behavior through cognitive psychology, perception, and consumer psychology to guide the expert review process. A detailed report is usually the result of expert reviews.

User Experience Prototyping and Design

User Experience design translates product requirements into a product or website that actually works for its users. User experience design involves everything you see on the screen. User interaction design is the art of providing user interaction with the product. This may be through a keyboard, mouse, gestures, voice input, or any other type of user interaction and navigation. Prototypes can be created for realizing concepts, functionality, design, interaction, and navigation.

User Research (Usability Evaluations)

User testing (usability evaluations) involve observing actual or representative users performing common tasks and scenarios with a program or website. Some form of usability evaluation should be performed on every software product and website before it is released to its intended audience.
